Life once again reminded me of its fickle nature today:
Of the mortality of this shell, I reside in.
Of how, not now, not ever, I'll be ready to lose you.
And while I succumb to the heart-wrenching fear,
I'm reminded of all those memories of you.
As I stare across the vast expanse of life,
I realise that this fear makes me want to live more:
Feel every breeze through my hair, memorise it;
Watch that family play fetch with their dog and laugh;
Drink my coffee and feel its bitter-sweet nature like never before;
Enjoy the sunset and all the golden-yellow hues it brings along.
Life once again has reminded me of its fleeting nature today:
Begging me to live every day like it's my one and only.
