New Beginnings

There's something about new beginnings

That excites me

A fresh start, a new endeavour - starting over.

Like the first rays of sun in the morning

Reflecting off off my cup of coffee

Sipping sounds accompanying the chirping birds

And the cool wind enveloping me in its freshness.

Like the first sight of a new city

Filling me afresh with dreams and aspirations

It's people reminding me of its essence and history

And its horizons calling out to my yet-to-come.

Like the first time, I heard that song

The rhythm makes me move and groove

Its lyrics teleporting me into a land of my own

And its

story bringing out the poetry in me.

Like the first encounter we had

Your coy smile and lingering eyes sent shivers down my spine

Conversations brewing, plotting charts in unknown territories

And holding your hand through a journey unbounded by time.

There's something about life's new chapters

That excites me

Renewed hope, some optimism - a promise.
