Lost in You

That evening beside you on the hilltop

With the sky adorned by yellow-orange hues

And the dangling leaves of gold on trees

With the breeze gently blowing across

And the last minutes of Sun lighting up your face

With the mellow sound of the chirping birds

And the beautiful view of the city from there

Came the sense of peace and tranquillity

And the feeling of being.

That night walking with you in the streets

With drizzling rain coloured yellow in the streetlight

And all the city lights in the distance twinkling like stars

With the raindrops gently perched on your hair

And a knowing smile on your beautiful face

With your arm around my shoulders and my hand in yours

And those conversations about everything under the Sun

Came the sense of heaven on Earth

And the feeling of being.

That morning lying in the grass under autumn trees

With the branches crisscrossing to make a thousand skies

And us trying to make out shapes in the clouds

With the intermittent stares in between laughs

And making those unforgettable memories

With the shared sandwich lunch in between us

And the cheap wine from down the street

Came the sense of an infinite ordinary

And the feeling of being.
